Sausage Stuffing

3/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 c. finely diced celery
1 (8 oz.)can mushrooms, undrained
12 c. bread, broken into small pieces
1/2 lb. ground sausage, cooked and drained
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. finely chopped fresh sage or 2 tsp. dried sage

Cook sausage in a sauce pan, drain, and set aside in a large bowl.

In same saucepan, saute onions and celery until tender. Add undrained mushrooms until just warm. Add mixture to sausage. Add bread, salt, pepper, and sage, and gently stir.

To prevent bacteria growth, do not stuff into turkey until just before you are ready to bake the turkey.

If you prefer to not to stuff your turkey, place the mixed ingredients into a greased casserole dish and bake at 350 degree for 30 minutes.

Makes 6 servings.
