Easy Handmade Soap

soap and rubber ducky Quick and inexpensive, these soaps are a fun project with your children. Or you can make them as a personalized gift for a friend or loved one on a special occasion. Just melt and pour!

From your local craft store, you will need the following supplies:

Ingredients:

Soap molds (choose from a variety of shapes and sizes)
8 ounces clear glycerin soap, grated
8 drops soap fragrance (remember, you can mix and match!)
Optional: Soap colorant to create glittery or pearlescent soaps!
Non-stick vegetable spray

Lightly coat molds with vegetable spray. Wipe with a paper towel to make sure just a thin even coat remains.

In a large microwave-safe measuring cup (with spout for pouring) place glycerine flakes. Microwave for 15 seconds on high power. Remove and stir. Continue to microwave in five second intervals until glycerine is melted, but do not allow to boil.

Once glycerine is melted and smooth, add drops of fragrance/aroma. Stir. If desired, you can add a few more or mix and match fragrances. For example, mixing orange and vanilla will create a yummy creamsicle smell!

Add drops of colorant/glitter and stir in between drops to avoid over-coloring.

Allow your mixed soap to cool until a film forms on the very top. Once you see that film, pull the film back and pour the liquid into the soap molds.

Allow to cool completely before removing from the mold. It is recommended to continue to harden for three weeks before wrapping in plastic to give as a gift.

Mix, match and customize!
