Fourth of July / Independence Day


Patriotic Fourth of July Fireworks Summer is an exciting time, because here in the United States, we celebrate one of our most boisterous and exciting of holidays: Independence Day.

Independence Day (also known as the Fourth of July) is typically celebrated with barbecues, picnics, outdoor games, and most traditional of all, a brilliant fireworks display!

Below, we have compiled our own personal favorite ways to celebrate the Fourth of July, as well as some important safety tips to protect your family and home in case you choose to have your own smaller fireworks at home.

Fireworks Safety
Fireworks are dangerous, even the legal kind. Protect your family from injury and/or tragedy this Independence Day by becoming familiar with fireworks safety.

We love picnics just before the fireworks begin! Below are our favorite Fourth of July picnic foods!

This chicken salad sandwich is delicious! A wonderful light, summery food.

Corn on the Cob... To Go! This is a really great idea on taking freshly cooked corn on the cob to your picnic or barbecue!

Peach Cobbler
Peach cobbler is a wonderful summery treat! This recipe happens to be one of our favorites and has been in our family for many years!

Homemade Ice Cream (In a Coffee Can!)
No need to purchase an ice cream maker when you and your kids can have fun making your own ice cream by using coffee cans, rock salt, and ice! This recipe is the same we grew up using with my dad who loved to break it out as a scout master!
