Arrange for a special, unexpected delivery:

A new view:

Spend the day at the spa together.

  • Couples massages are incredibly fun, and many spas offer couples packages. If you do decided to book a spa day, book your appointment far in advance. Try to pick a spa that will allow you to lounge in the sauna together in your robes. It's much more fun having time to enjoy each other's company at the spa than to be rushed through the appointments, never seeing each other. Also, bring extras to surprise your date, such as chocolate-covered strawberries for the spa staff to bring you while you are relaxing together.

Forget the spa!

Do a little window shopping:

  • Visit the mall and look at the shops

  • Go antiquing at different antique shops

  • Test drive cars

Learn about each other's interests:

  • Go to a bookstore and pick out a book for your date to read.

  • Exchange lessons on a specific talent.

Search local events:

  • Ballet

  • Karaoke

Some light competition:

  • Play billiards

  • Go bowling

  • Miniature golfing

  • Visit an arcade or nickelcade

Be a kid again:

  • Planetarium (catch a laser light show)

  • Spend the day at a local amusement park

  • Go to a drive-in movie theater

  • Drive-up diner

  • Create teddy bear at Build-a-Bear Workshop

Do something for others:

  • Volunteer at the hospital together

  • Participate in Bingo night at a rest home

  • Start a blog together to update distant relatives on your family

A short trip:

  • Go up to a campground, build a fire, and roast marshmallows and sing songs. Camp overnight if you like.

  • Visit a bed and breakfast for the weekend.

Be a romantic:

  • Rent a stretch limo for the night

  • Recreate your first date

  • Go for a horse and carriage ride

  • Read from a poetry book to each other

  • Agree to write a love letter to each other and then read them over dinner

  • Cuddle up and watch romantic movies. (You can usually check out movies for free at your local library!)
